Consistency Is The Key

Reach Goals With Consistency

The only thing that keeps people from reaching their fitness goals is Consistency. Be your goal be building muscle or to get rid of the excessive fat, you have to be consistent. You have to have a routine to follow to, something to wake up to everyday. If you have a plan and are consistent about it, you my friend can achieve your fitness as well as life goals. No matter what your goals are in life, to be able to achieve them you have to put in hard work consistently.

The steps to success are not something out of the ordinary. These are the things that we all know but are just too lazy or too afraid to do. Success demands your 100 percent of dedication, consistency and hard work. It is these ingredients when combined together will give you the desired results. All three aspects are important in achieving success but the one that people find the most difficult is Being Consistent. What separates a successful person from someone who is not is the mere fact that, the successful person has put in the hard work, day in and day out. Even at their initial stages, this person had a belief of getting to the end. They know that to be successful, hard work has to be put in with consistency. To be consistent, you have to dedicate yourself to your task, activity or goal to the fullest. There can be no distractions as they guide you off course. One has to be true to himself, if they are to be successful. You cannot just pretend to be doing something, you have to be honest. This is what it takes to be a successful person.

The reason Consistency is so hard to put in, is that you get tired, irritated when you don’t see the desired results. Success demands patience. Success is not an elevator that will take you to your desired level in one go. It is a path that you have to travel, alone or with someone you trust. This path will have many obstructions, sideways and many distractions. This path is long, you will face breakdowns on your way as a form of failures but these are mere hurdles in your path.

If you are not consistent, you won’t be able to finish. Finish here means to achieve the desired goal. You can finish something and be unsuccessful but to finish successfully you have to be consistent. There are times when you have out in your hard work consistently, day in and day out but you have not got the results you were looking for. This has happened to almost all the successful people in this world. Nobody became an overnight success. They all have had their fair share of failures, but this did not stop them from achieving their goals. I could list a lot of people here, those who thought of giving up in their early stages. The one thing that kept them going was their desire and dedication towards their goals.

Now let’s take an example here. Let’s say you are a guitarist or a piano player, Did you learn this skill in one day? NO. It takes time and practice. Constantly learning is what it took you to be a good musician. Apply the same formula to your day to day life, to do something that you have not before or to achieve something, you will have to develop certain skills which will take time and constant hard work.

To be consistent, you have to be put everything aside and focus on the one goal that matters to you. At the end of the day you are responsible for everything that is happening in your life. You cannot have any excuses, if something is important to you, you will find the time and the motivation to do it. It is always about priorities. You and you alone are responsible for what you do and you have failed to do. Nobody can be given the blame for it.

Consistency is all about building small habits that you do everyday to keep you focused on your goal. Doing the same things over and over again seems boring but doing the same things again and again with the proper learning and feedback will yield results that you have never seen before. It is just not mindless repetition that gets you success. It is learning from the mistakes and constantly developing yourself that shows the pathway to success.

Consistency in action requires planning in advance. In order to be consistent you have to plan ahead to room for the actions. You have to have a clear idea of what are things that matter to you in your life or else you will just wander off. If you have your goals clear, you will know what is required from you and you can easily plan for the steps that are needed for you to achieve them.

Any famous celebrity, be it an actor or singer or musician will all tell you about their journey to be successful was a long one. They had to be patient for their chance. J.K. Rowling had gone through so much before she gained success as a writer. She was rejected by many authors and had to raise a child by her own. Stephen King, the author of many horror stories did not have an easy life to start with. His father left his mother when he was 2 years old. His first novel, Carrie was rejected 30 times before being published. Jack Ma, Co-founder of Alibaba was rejected from a job at KFC. Interesting thing is that 24 people applied for the job and only he was the one rejected. This long list of failures turned successful includes the likes of Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Pele, Walt Disney, Cristiano Ronaldo, Milton Hershey and many more.

Last but not the least, be patient and be consistent. It will pay off if you are true to your goal. You can achieve everything is life with the right attitude and the right mind set. Success is not always given, this is something you have to earn. Success is like compound interest, it keeps on adding with time. There is no shortcut to it, you have to work consistently towards your goal. Failure is not the end of line but is just success in progress. If you don’t fail, it would be hard for you to succeed. Success comes from the moments when you have failed over and over again and still didn’t give up.

“My great concern is not whether you have failed, but whether you are content with your failure.”

A great quote to end with by an even greater person, Abraham Lincoln
